Eye strain and discomfort during computer use

WELCOME To BenTyler Eyes

Digital Eye Strain Solutions

According to the American Optometric Association Digital Eye Strain leads to a cluster of eye and vision-related problems resulting from prolonged computer, tablet and cell phone use. According to recent studies, up to 80% of screen users report suffering from these symptoms.  New smart devices have been equipped with screens that emit, at an average, 5 times more high energy visible blue (LED) light than previous technologies, causing many individuals to suffer from eye strain.

SO WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS?

No Magnification

The benefit of these lenses are Blue light protection without affecting your distance vision. This is a good choice for those who do not need a distance prescription or who are using contact lenses and would like to keep their distance vision clear when using screens. For example: Watching TV while also using a notebook computer or iPad.

Low Magnification

The benefit of these lenses are Blue light protection with added magnification for better near comfort. This is a good choice for those who do not need a distance prescription or who are using contact lenses. These lenses may blur distance vision, but enhance long term near vision comfort.

Prescription

You may also choose this option if your doctor prescribed you glasses for screen use.  Your eye doctor may write several different prescriptions for you, confirm that the one you send to BenTyler Eyes is the correct one.  The lenses we provide are single vision only.

HAVE QUESTIONS, LET US KNOW

Many individuals experience eye strain, discomfort and vision problems when viewing digital screens for extended periods, even after they stop working at a computer. It is important to recognize that if nothing is done to address the cause of the problem, the symptoms will continue to recur and perhaps worsen in the future with the ongoing digital screen use.

Eye Strain

Do you experience eye fatigue, itchy eyes, dry eyes, headaches, double vision? These are some symptoms you may experience as a result of increased screen use. Digital eye strain may seem mild at first, with few or no symptoms. However the more time you spend starring at screens like phones, iPads, tablets or computer monitors the worse the condition gets. Eye strain may lead to eye rubbing, which in and of itself is very bad for your eyes. Rubbing the eyes is a sign of eye strain. Rubbing your eyes leads to other eye problems, such as broken blood vessels, broke Mast cells, keratoconus, blurred vision, itchy eyes and eye infections. Digital screens cause you to stare longer and blink less. This leads to dry and itchy eyes with blurry vision. Our solution with Q-blu lenses help at reducing the discomfort while you work or play with digital screens.  Learn more about your vision here.
